Secondary School Guidance
Our Secondary School Guidance Program guides students and families through the process of finding the right school for every child. Starting in January of seventh grade, students begin to take classes with Jed Stuart, our Guidance Director. In Secondary School Workshop, students reflect on their strengths, interests, skills, and achievements and plan for their eighth-grade leadership year.
Each family has individual consultations in the spring, learning about possible school matches and how to use the summer to plan for the application process. In the fall, eighth graders continue taking Secondary School Seminar, where they receive coaching on how to tour and interview, guidance on application essays, continued support in determining where to apply, and assistance navigating the financial aid process.
By the end of their eighth-grade year, students have more than an acceptance to a school; they have discovered themselves and come to understand their potential.
