Kristen Musumano
Grade 1

Sacred Heart University - B.S., Sacred Heart University - M.A.T.
Kristen Musumano joined the Renbrook community in 2016 and serves as a Grade One Teacher in the Lower School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Sacred Heart University. Kristen holds professional K to 6 teaching certifications in both Connecticut and New York and is trained in Orton Gillingham, strengthening her ability to support early literacy development.
Her professional journey includes work as a building substitute in the Farmington Public School District, a Grade One teacher at Royle Elementary School in Darien, and a Grade Two co-teacher at Harlem Link Charter School in New York City. These experiences shaped her commitment to meeting students where they are and helping them thrive academically and socially.
Kristen absolutely loves first grade. She treasures the wonder, honesty, and pure excitement for learning that young children bring each day. In her classroom, social-emotional development is just as important as academic growth. She intentionally teaches self-regulation, empathy, and positive communication, helping her students grow into kind, thoughtful, and confident young people.
As a parent of a Renbrook kindergartner, Kristen also enjoys watching the school experience through a new lens. She deeply values Renbrook’s close-knit community and the strong partnerships between teachers and families that make the school feel like a second home.
