Sue Kuzia
Grade 2
Manchester Community College - A.S.
Sue Kuzia, originally from Broad Brook, CT, has been teaching for over thirty years now. She earned an AS in early childhood education from Manchester Community College and a BS in psychological science from Central Connecticut State University. Sue has taught preschool, junior kindergarten, kindergarten, and second grade.
Sue believes in the potential of all students, and she attributes her career choice to her very own fifth grade teacher, Miss LaPorte, who exposed her to a variety of rich and engaging learning experiences like shearing a sheep and building a suspension bridge out of newspaper. Sue loves to engage her students with beautiful poetry, American Sign Language, project-based learning, and opportunities to explore and make sense of the world. As a Grade Two teacher, Sue observed that while her students crave order, structure, and balance, they are also full of creativity and wonder which creates an amazing learning environment.
When not in the classroom, Sue enjoys reading, hiking, listening to live music, cooking, and spending time with her family and two sons, Colin and Sam.
