Yasmid Montalvo served in Renbrook’s After School and Summer Adventure Programs for many years and then joined the Beginning School in 2020. She is known for the imaginative ways she brings learning to life for our youngest learners. A skilled creator of dynamic learning experiences and creative storytelling, Yasmid creates learning adventures using a variety of materials and media. Families appreciate the ways she builds the school-home partnership, especially her frequent photos and videos, or thoughtful anecdotes delivered each day.
Yasmid has taught in Renbrook’s Beginning School for the past three years as both a classroom teacher and Spanish instructor, and she worked in Renbrook’s Summer Adventure Program for the past 15 years. She has a Certificate from the School for Young Children at the University of St. Joseph. Yasmid grew up in Colombia, and she has two grown children, Omar and Demi, a granddaughter named Mila, and an American Bulldog named Tesla. As Yasmid says, her goal is to, “bring fun and positive energy to everything I do and always be willing to give a helping hand.”
